Contestant #3
It's a tough situation. I handle it tenuously.
That being said, I have many hobbies and passions which I believe would fit well with your trip. I enjoy boating, beaches, beer, sleeping under the stars, taking photos (not stealing, Ha, I kid), worrying about boats being tied up, wondering over just about everything else, and chatting with those who do as well.
Yet I am not all good times, there are disappointments in my life. I don't enjoy non-boating, pavement, concrete, not-alcoholic beer, sleeping in buildings with air conditioning, staring at walls without photos or art, worrying about getting hit by cars on the interstate, wondering of nothing outside of myself, and chatting with those who don't as well.
I'm a six foot, slightly scrawny, probably beardy, Leo who tries to cook well with others...
I think I'd be a good fit on your trip. Let me know what you think.
....oh, and cheap tickets on Allegiant Air from certain places on certain dates...collaboration on travel plans?

Introduction's - Hello's - Howdy's - Hi's
Hi Again -
I want to start the first series of posts on our GC trip blog. If you guys could add a pic and a little diddy about yourself - as long or short as you want - that'd be great! Here's mine:
Morgan here (on my first river trip of the year on the Sandy). I'm about 9 months in on the first "real" job I've ever had. You know, one of those 9-5, 5 days a week, health insurance, 401k deals. I work for a water resources consulting firm (http://www.sspa.com/ if you want to check it out :)). It's great work - I'm learning a ton and I have three great co-workers. But I have to admit, one of the best parts of my job is that they're letting me off for two months to go play on the rivers in Idaho this summer. I give a big thumbs up to that! The work I do has also inspired me to look toward school and I'm even taking calculus so that some day, some hydrology graduate program will accept me! I think what keeps me going day to day is my ability to ride my bike to work, my runs in the parks right behind my house, and the flowers (which are in bloom!) all over my front yard. I can't even begin to tell you all how excited I am for our weeks on the river. I don't know if everyone get's to check off one of their life goals at age 26 (which I will be by the time of the trip) - so I feel pretty darn lucky.
6-Month, Yee-HAW, we're on our way to GC 2009-10
As your Grand Canyon organizing leader I have decided to open a blog for our group's communication. I'm pretty new at these things, so it will be interesting to see if it works, but hopefully everyone can contribute and get all the info they need from here.
This blog is now open to you: the Grand Canyon crew for our Christmas float this 2009!
